A rainy match day at Batu Kawan Stadium as Melaka United faced the Panthers, Pulau Pinang FA. Two changes in the lineup with Jeon and Surendran rested on the bench. Aguero returned to the first eleven after a lengthy lay off due to injuries.

Ahmad Khuzaimi started on the left wing as been done in the last match against Pahang and the gamble paid off with him scoring in the 6th minute through a header after a cross by Amri Yahyah. Melaka United have to play without their striker Spasojević in the 8th minute due to injury and was replaced by Fauzi Roslan.

In the second half, Aguero’s shot saved by Penang’s goalkeeper, Syed Adney and he denied the Argentinian in the 52nd minutes after receiving a fine pass from Amri from the left side. Melaka United played with only one import in the last 15 minutes and Penang used the opportunity to keep on pressing. Their constant pressure was paid off when center back, Lobo scored the equalizer in the 87th minutes for their first point of the season. Melaka United will travel to Darul Aman Stadium to meet the 2016 Malaysia Cup winner, Kedah FA.
